Passivhaus Institut (PHI)
An independent research institute formed in 1996 by Dr. Wolfgang Feist in Germany to develop the Passive House concept incorporated in the first passive houses built in 1990 with research, development of the Passive House Planning Package (PHPP) energy modeling software program, training and certification of passive house consultants and buildings, and testing and certification of components meeting its performance standards.
Passive House Institute U.S. (PHIUS)
A 501(c)3 educational organization incorporated in 2009 and committed to making high-performance passive building principles the mainstream best building practice and market energy performance standard. PHIUS' roots trace back to 2002, when Katrin Klingenberg built her own passive house in Urbana, Ill. PHIUS trains and certifies passive house consultants and buildings, tests and certifies components meeting its performance standards, and hosts an annual national conference.
Passive House Alliance U.S. (PHAUS)
A program of PHIUS, PHAUS provides a chapter/membership structure to support the growing community of passive building professionals in the United States. Through networking opportunities and other forums, PHAUS members connect with one another and with industry representatives. In partnership with PHIUS technical staff, PHAUS provides training opportunities and disseminates technical information and research.
International Passive House Alliance (IPHA)
A program of PHI, the IPHA is a global network for passive house knowledge and works to promote the Passive House Standard worldwide.
An online passive house information portal of the IPHA with free articles as well as articles available only to members of IPHA.
North American Passive House Network (NAPHN)
The Network is a virtual information hub that shares up-to-date news, events, and other knowledge resources related to Passive House in the United States. A cooperative of North American regional and state passive house advocacy and trade associations with members including Passive House Northwest, Passive House California, New York Passive House, Passive House Maine, Passive House New Mexico, Western Pennsylvania Passive House, and CanPHI.
Passive House California (PHCA)
Sister organization to PHnw working together since 2008 to educate the public about the Passive House building performance standard to help create healthy, comfortable, durable, energy- and resource-efficient buildings and communities.
New York Passive House (NYPH)
Sister organization to PHnw building the passive house community in the New York state region.

Passive House Western Pennsylvania (PHWPA)
Sister organization to PHnw in Western Pennsylvania.
Passive House Canada (formerly CanPHI West)
A 100% Canadian-owned, non-profit educational organization providing the knowledge, tools, networks and confidence to design and construct passive houses.

An independent, non-profit organization supporting and promoting adoption of the Passivhaus standard and methods.
