2017 PHnw Annual Conference
Thursday Night Dinner
Passive House Northwest is excited to welcome Lloyd Alter as our speaker for dinner on Thursday night. Lloyd Alter is design editor of TreeHugger. He has been an architect, developer, inventor and prefab promoter. In the course of his work developing small residential units and prefabs, Lloyd became convinced that we just use too much of everything- too much space, too much land, too much food, too much fuel, too much money, and that the key to sustainability is to simply use less. And, the key to happily using less is to design things better. If you have not already registered for the dinner, you can do so here.
Springtime is a great time to get fit!
So the Passive House Northwest Conference 2017 Tour of Homes presents, at absolutely no cost to you, 3 super-fit Passive House homes and 1 interesting retro-fit home as a self-guided tour.
A Passive House home fits the climate, fits the environment, fits the homeowner. Comfortable, durable, and affordable -- Passive House embodies the best in sustainable construction.
Typically, buildings meeting the Passive House Standard use 80 to 90 percent less energy for heating and cooling, savings far greater than any other building standard delivers.
These homes are full of well-crafted and thoughtfully designed details specific to each homeowner’s needs, yet are universally appealing. Homes that are connected to nature, comfortable and quiet, have a stable environment, health-conscious, flexible, low maintenance, durable, and offer resilience. Please join us for this tour of unique homes.
You are welcome to follow our numbered 1-4 map (here) or choose homes from the list that call to you and tour in any order that is convenient. Homes are available for touring Saturday, April 8th from 9AM to 1PM.
